A Night at the Museum Gala, typically held in January, is the main fundraiser and a party not to miss! At this event, the museum unveils a new exhibit and attendees are the first to enjoy it. This year, the Museum unveiled, Rodrigue Comes Home: Shiny Happy Blue Dog, a collection of 13 original mixed media paintings and a three-sided sculpture all primarily done on chrome and on view until Summer, 2017. Also unveiled that night was our permanent exhibit, Rodrigue’s Artist Studio. The Carmel, California studio was recently dismantled by his family and moved across company to its new home at the Bayou Teche Museum. This special recreation is installed as George left it, including the painting he was working on and the paint-splattered floor.
The gala also highlights the food of the best regional restaurants as well as a silent auction and a live auction featuring priceless trips, private dinners, original works of art and more. Work is now underway on the museum’s next installation. Place your name on our mailing list to “be in that number” for the social gathering of 2018. Fill out our membership form here.
