Thursday, January 26, 2018 is the date of the Annual Night at the Museum Gala. It is the premier social event of the year in New Iberia and the main fundraiser for the Museum. Your generous contribution will help us grow and expand, providing the region with even more educational opportunities and unique gathering spaces.
The Gala theme this year is a “Party Like It’s 1954” referring to the year that “The Creature of the Black Lagoon” movie was released and played at the Evangeline Theatre. “The Creature” is the subject of one of the George Rodrigue original mixed media collection we will unveil at the Gala. The highlight of the evening will be the unveiling of the actual art studio where George last painted, together with his last unfinished painting. The California studio will be a permanent museum exhibit. You will dine on scrumptious food from our generous regional restaurants as you mingle with characters from the 1950’s. As usual, our live and silent auctions will include items and experiences available ONLY through the Bayou Teche Museum auction. Senator Fred Mills has again graciously accepted our auctioneer invitation.
Membership forms have been mailed. If you need another please stop by the Museum at 131 E. Main Street or call (337) 606-5977.
